Square Peg’s New Brunch Menu Sounds Like a Lumberjack’s Wet Dream

Cue jokes about linner because this Saturday from 10am to 3pm, the Square Peg on 9th and Walnut is debuting a new brunch menu.

Menu items will include: Bananas Foster French Toast Pegs (pictured right), served with banana slices and coffee caramel sauce; Smoked Goat Cheese Omelet, served with dressed greens; Scrapple Hash, shredded potatoes topped with fried eggs, roasted long hots, onions and a slice of house-made scrapple; Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal, steel-cut oats with brown sugar and apple butter; and Cashew Granola Parfait, served with roasted pineapple, fresh fruit and lemongrass granita.

There are also a bevy of options for day-drinkers, including a Julep Menu featuring five inventive takes on the tasty tipple: Midtown Mango, Knob Creek, ginger syrup, mango puree and muddled mint; Passyunk Punch, Jim Beam, pineapple and orange juices, muddled mint; Grilled Peach, Jim Beam, grilled peach, peach puree and basil; Berry + Basil, Makers Mark, Tuaca, strawberries, blueberries and basil; and Apricot, Jim Beam Rye, Rothman’s Apricot Liqueur, sugar, muddled strawberries and mint.

If you’re too hungover for fancy food, Square Peg also serves lunch entrees at brunch e.g. Mac & Cheese “Grilled Cheese” with drunken tomato soup; and General Tso Chicken Cobb Salad with bacon, eggs, greens, cucumber, tomato and honey black sesame dressing.

Did we mention that brunch is really hot right now? It’s basically the silly bands of meals.
