Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue, Positano Coast, PB + J and Candy Hearts For You

valWe got some more intel on Valentine’s Day shenanigans: another lovelorn menu of V Day specials that’s just pining for your affections, Philabundance‘s PB + J love affair, and the re-introduction to the overrated and staple sweet treat of the holiday, Sweethearts candy hearts.

Positano Coast‘s Valentine’s Weekend menu, available from February 14th to the 17th, will feature some pretty sexy meals for Philadelphians, following suit in PC’s Amalfi Coast inspired cuisine. Dishes include Pan Seared Diver Scallops, Grilled Octopus, Lobster Ravioli, Sea Urchin Pasta, Prime NY Strip Steak, Seafood Risotto & Homemade Vegetable Ravioli. In addition, the merry mixologists at Positano Coast have created new cocktails that will be paired with delish desserts: the Tropical Passion Mousse is going on a date with the L’Amore cocktail featuring Pisco Porton, passion fruit puree, lemon juice and passion fruit foam, and the Milk Chocolate Cheesecake is getting hot n’ heavy with the Heartbeat aperitif, made with Housemade El Tesoro anejo tequila chocolate sauce, coffee liqueur and Mexican cinnamon.

Philabundance, in partnership with Subaru, have decided to get a little sticky this Valentine’s Day. The Philly food bank will be continuing their Spread the Love fundraiser for the fourth consecutive year, collecting jars of peanut butter and jelly for the youngins of Philly since PB is both nutritious n’ delicious. This year however, Subaru is getting in on the action, donating a jar of either peanut butter or jelly to Philabundance for every “like” Philabundance gets on their Facebook page from February 5th to February 15th. Philabundance is also giving away some pretty high-roller swag:  a $500 airline voucher within the continental US from US Airways or a 7-night stay at a Caribbean resort through Elite Island Resorts. Dayum, all for the love the PB + J. To get in on this, y’all gotta either comment on the Spread the Love post written by Chef Nathan Volz of 10 Arts Bistro and Lounge with your favorite PB&J recipe on Philabundance’s blog, post a photo of you with your PB&J sandwich on Philabundance’s Facebook page, or make a donation online here.

Hey, you remember when professing your love for your childhood crush entailed selecting the concise yet perfect neon Sweethearts candy heart? Well, let’s just say that the barf-worthy tradition has gotten quite the upgrade. Italian steakhouse Davio’s pastry chef Thomas Heck has recreated the candy into a grown-up dessert, with his own homemade recipe with new flavors like lemon, orange, peppermint, and cocoa. And you can personalize it for that special someone, or yourself if you’re into that, via Twitter (@daviosphilly) and hashtag #candyheartsphilly for message suggestions by 6 PM, February 13th. If your message is picked, you get a $50 gift card to Davio’s.
