From Sunday 11AM-3PM every week, Fathom offers their brunch. The brunch menu includes dishes like Stuffed French Toast, Peekyote Crab-Cake Sandwiches and Shrimp and Chorizo Frittatas. With the Phillies game at 1:35 on Sunday, Fathom would be a great place to grab a meal and a beer while you watch the game. Sunday Brunch is only one of three weekly events that Fathom hosts, the other two being Fish Fry Fridays and an Industry Night, also on Sunday. The Industry Night runs from 10PM-midnight and has ridiculous deals like $1 oysters, $2 pounders and $3 oyster shots, along with $4 drinks and $5 snacks.

Fathom, of course, is the sister restaurant to Fish on 1708 Lombard St. Outside of the great idea of the baseball brunch, Fathom has done a number of great things— including loading their menu with great deals and some really great dishes. Their menu includes both East and West Coast Oysters, Cod Pierogies and a Lobster Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Other items on Fathom’s menu include Blue Crab, Blue Bay Mussels, a plate of 7 Jonah Crab Claws, Smoked Marlin Tacos, and their namesake Fathom Fries (fries with spiced crab gravy and cheese curd). Fathom offers 11 types of beers in cans, including PBR and Guinness, and about double that available on draught. Beyond their main courses are some delicious sides as well: baked beans with bacon breadcrumbs, wilted spinach with shallots, and old bay fries, to just name a few.

Fathom Seafood House, 200 E. One option is to go for the $25 prix fixe menu, which includes 3 courses and a refreshing, booze-free beverage. Potential combinations include Fresh Summer Melon with mint labneh and spiced pecans, Blueberry Muffin French Toast with Lancaster county maple syrup and goat butter, a Lemon Meringue Tart and some Rosemary Lemonade.

And if the name Garces and the words prix fixe get you all aflutter, then keep on fluttering. Chef Jose Garces himself will continue to host those Craft Beer Dinners at Chifa. On Thursday, July 22, the beer-crafter in focus will be Brian O’Reilly (head brewer at Sly Fox.) Among the most intriguing of the pairings is the desert: Malted Pound Cake with strawberries and Incubus syrup paired with Incubus- Sly Fox’s golden triple. Dinner starts at 7pm, you need reservations for sure, and it costs $65 a head. Sounds crafty. If you miss this one, there’s always the one on Thursday, August 5 with Garrett Oliver (head brewer of Brooklyn Brewing Company) and the one on Thursday, September 30 with Tom Kehoe (founder of Yards Brewing Co.).
