We also tried their Oyster Po’ Boy for the first time. Usually, we’re a bit nervous about oysters on weekdays, but no worries here! Then, for the vegetarian, there’s the Fried Tomato Special, which is my new favorite! It’s like a BLT, with perfectly fried (and ripe!) tomatoes, bacon (nixed for the vegetarian), roasted peppers and lettuce with any cheese you want. You can also add turkey, amazingly only for $1.49.

Why we don’t ride on down here for lunch more often, we have no idea. Next time we’re bringing 10 people, and we’re all sharing! Oh and before we forget… don’t bother getting the small size. The large is only a dollar more, and comes with that fantastic Sarcone Seeded Roll you don’t want to miss out on.

We mentioned last week that DiNic’s was moving within Reading Terminal Market, and we have our first look at the new space above. The space was most recently occupied by Harry Ochs Prime Meats back in May.

The move, in addition to a more expansive (and expensive) renovation will give the Terminal a fresh look for 2012. The immediate changes to DiNic’s new location in Center Court includes a larger kitchen, additional seating and the ability to serve more customers daily, a.k.a get you your sandwich faster. That’s never a bad thing.

Percy Street Barbecue (900 South Street) is already well-respected for their smoked meats, and this coming Monday, restaurateurs Steven Cook, Michael Solomonov and Chef-Partner Erin O’Shea will debut Percy Street’s second location: The Market & Shops at the Comcast Center.

You can take a look at the menu above and decide what you want before showing up. Percy Street will open at 10AM next monday, and is sure to be packed all day and probably all week.

The sandwich itself is a little more than Thanksgiving dinner on a roll, featuring homemade stuffing, cranberry sauce and fresh oven roasted turkey, and served with mayo on a homemade Primo Bread roll. One of the biggest food mistakes we’ve ever made was when we tried to eat a similar meal, an Oktoberfest pizza (with mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese, sauerkraut, and sausage), but this promises to be much, much better.

The Pilgrim was unveiled today at all 74 Primo locations, so check it out now, if only to train your stomach for the marathon eating and family session that is Thanksgiving.

BAD NEWS: We’ve been tipped off that Paesano’s (152 W Girard Ave), which has long been known as one of the best places for a sandwich in the city, may be downsizing their offerings. According to a review on Yelp! (we know, we can’t believe we’re acknowledging them either), the sandwiches have been getting smaller in the last few months, while the prices remain the same. There has also been some reports of customer service going downhill and the recent reviews show a disconcerting trend.

Visitors to Lincoln Financial Field this season will have access to more food options than ever before, reports Philly.com. Before each game, the Linc’s headhouse plaza will be host to The Dapper Dog and a second, rotating truck for every game (this week’s game will have Guapos Tacos). The Dapper Dog will be serving a signature dog and one based off of the visiting team each game.

In addition to those … um … additions, Aramark has unveiled two new sandwiches as well. The Inside LB on the left (london broil, horseradish cheddar cheese) and the Chop Block (chopped brisket, jalapeno slaw and barbecue sauce). Prices for these sandwiches have not yet been announced. On top of all of these additions, the inside of the stadium will have more options as well, with new stands from Max & David’s of Elkins Park with kosher food, Sweet Christine’s with gluten-free baked goods, and the Jersey Shore fave Johnson’s with popcorn.

Starting at 11AM and going until the food runs out, you can stop by the corner of South 17th Street and Sansom Street, to snag a complimentary sandwich, bag of chips and a house-baked chocolate-cherry blondie. The sandwich is a crispy chicken breast topped with a sunny side up egg, frisée and bacon-soy vinaigrette.

Regardless of your opinion of the show, it sounds pretty impossible to dislike this sandwich, and for free, you really can’t beat it.

Some matches were made in heaven, such as: peanut butter and jelly, milk and cookies, and sloppy joes and everything. Sloppy Joe-gies has proved that last one. Sloppy Joe-gies takes the old idea of the sloppy joe, throws it on a hoagie roll, adds some toppings and … well just look at that sandwich. Sadly, there is currently no store to get the joe-gies in, since Sloppy Joe-gies is a catering business. So someone please, throw a party and call them.

Wedge + Fig, which only opened a few months ago, has quickly become one of our favorite places. They want to be one of yours too, so they’re offering one hell of a deal.
