My charge was $12 and I wrote in a $4 tip making it $16. 20% of $12 is $2.40. It's quite obvious that the card company holds a 20% tip to make sure it can get covered while it is pending. When the tip clears it'll go in as $16.00 not $14.40 or $18.40. I guarantee that this is exactly what happened with the girl who started this whole debacle but she'll never confess to it because she looks like a dumb ass.

Just an update. Most of them are only available by special order, but it's unfair to expect the PLCB to stock a large number of a "pricey and rare" wine. If you search the wines McInerny mentions in the article on winesearcher.com, you will find that they are difficult to track down across the whole country. A good alternative to the expensive Puligny-Montrachet is the Joseph Drouhin Saint Veran White Bugundy (PLCB Code 30926) still available at 11.99 at the Franklin Mills store.
p.s. Jay McInerney has been writing about wine since the late 90s when he wrote columns for Home & Garden magazine.

If you go to the PLCB Product Search page and search on keyword Puligny they list 3 pages of wines from the region.
